President's Corner My how time flies! Summer is nearly over, schools is starting, and there are only 4 ½ months left in 2008!!!
I hope you all will join us at Feather Sound Country Club on Thursday, August 28 at 11:30 a.m. for our next exciting program. Local estate planning attorney, Michael Faehner will talk with us about "The ABCs of Charitable Trusts."
Many of you may know Michael and know that he is very involved in our local not-for-profit community. He sits on numerous boards and committees and gives a lot of his time volunteering. Networking and registration opens at 11:30 am. Lunch will be served at 11:50 am and Michael will begin his program at 12:30 pm. Please be sure to register on our website.
We've had quite a positive response to the Virtual Seminar series. Thanks to all of you that have attended and given your feedback. To those of you who have not yet attended, I encourage you to do so. These programs are from the National Conference on Planned Giving 2008 and are free to our members. Quite often, those that attend have an opportunity to share best practices with one another or ask for advice on a sticky gift situation. It's great when we can all look to each other for that type of support. Our next Virtual Seminar is September 17. Beth McNally & Beth Ridout will offer advice on collecting mature gifts in a more efficient and expedient manner. Even though this is a free event, please be sure to register.
See you on August 28,
Stephanie Wilson Council President |
